At First Love, we seek first to love. It’s in everything we do and it’s everything we are about. While we’re not perfect at it and still have a lot to learn, love has everything to do with our more than 20 years of ministry. With Jesus as our perfect example, we seek to compassionately surround the most vulnerable with holistic, Jesus-saturated love in 11 countries. While the love may look different in each location, the commitment is the same.
For example, in Kenya, First Love loves by operating a children’s home for orphans.
First Love has been in Kenya for more than 20 years and as a result, has had the privilege of walking beside many children into their adult years, loving them through unspeakable tragedy and obstacles, and towards healing. Recently, we reconnected with one of the children, Lucy, whom we have seen grow up over almost two decades!

We got to know Lucy as a result of a Kids’ Club we were holding at a slum near our children’s home. She was orphaned and left to the care of a drunkard brother at the time she came to First love. Today, she is married with a young son of her own. She leads worship in her church and has earned a technical certificate in hairdressing! She is a thriving example of many of the children at First Love, who through immersion in our holistic, caring, loving, Christian community, become a thriving disciple of Jesus for His glory!
